At West Hempstead, we believe in providing opportunities where our students become apprenticed into expertise through inquiry. Here in the Fine, Performing, and Culinary Arts Department, we pride ourselves on cultivating this intrinsic experience with comprehensive music, art, and culinary programs that engage our learners in creating, performing, responding, and connecting to fundamental real-world proficiencies for every student. Our students ignite a lifelong appreciation and high value for the arts through higher-order thinking, analytical approaches, articulation of concepts, and problem-solving methods. These skills create a lens that prepares our students to think outside the box as they embark on a 21-century global world.
